Baltic Daydream

"There is a tide in the affairs of men..."

It is estimated that something like ten percent of the population of Southampton is now made up of Eastern European immigrants, mainly from Poland and Lithuania.  Shops catering to Polish tastes have popped up everywhere, and all the main supermarkets now carry Polish staples, from kielbasa sausages to carrot juice.  I wonder where they'll get their live carp for Christmas, though?

  1. Just down the road, from the waters of the mighty Itchen. In fact, I'm pretty sure that I recognise that dorsal view as one of the many anglers on the footpath running alongside the free fishing section of the river. Is that chap raising his leg to step through the portal?

  2. Debra,

Not quite -- it's down by the mighty Solent at Titchfield -- but sometime you must show me where the fishing section is, as I've always had an "anglers" project in the back of my head.
